Indoor Swimming Pool, Debrecen

In the area of the Sports Swimming Pool, four sound systems are in operation: the sound system of the competition pool and the learner pool, the PA system of the building and a mobile sound system. Due to the bad acoustic circumstances, not only the implementation but also the planning of the sound system of the competition pool was a really challenging task for us, since the floor with hard tiles and the huge window and water surfaces are all in one space. On the grandstand and at the edge of the pool, special main sound systems, in the pool underwater speakers provide the proper sound pressure and intelligibility. In the learner pool, the task was solved with similarly carefully planned, tailored solution: the predecessor of IVS line speakers. Due to the outstanding performance during the short course swimming European Championship in 2007, the sound system was honourable mentioned by the International Swimming Association.
